Leave 'em in Your Wake.

Suzuki's 4.0 liter big block V6 cranking out 250 wild horses. A dual overhead cam (DOHC) powerhead with four valves per cylinder. Proven Suzuki performance features like multi-stage induction for better breathing, variable valve timing for stronger low-and mid-range torque and new lightweight, moly-coated forged aluminum pistons with full-floating hollow wrist pins. Digital sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection, of course. And a hydrodynamic, aggressively styled lower unit with a powerful 2.08:1 final drive ratio. What does all this mean? If other boats had doors, you'd blow them off.

THIS "Hotrod" of an outboard is ideal for today's tournament bass boats, ski boats, bay boats, sport pontoons — any high-performance craft with a 20-inch transom. Suzuki's narrow 55-degree block and proven offset driveshaft make the 250SS more compact and move the center of gravity forward on the transom, for a sleek outboard that looks and fits better on today's boats. Suzuki's 250SS — it's boating's ultimate thrill ride.

Features
The DF250's 4.0 liter big block V6 is built for speed and features a Dual Overhead Cam (DOHC) powerhead with four valves per cylinder.
It’s true – the industry’s most powerful V6 4-stroke is also the lightest and most compact. Our DF250’s narrow 55-degree V block and proven offset driveshaft reduce the overall engine profile and moves the center of gravity forward onto the transom for better balance. The result is a motor that fits better on a wide range of today’s most popular boats.
Get the advantage of the most advanced 4-stroke outboard technology in the industry. Features like multi-stage induction, variable valve timing and a powerful 32-bit Electronic Fuel Injection computer that work together to optimize low-end and top-end torque. The narrowest V block in the industry for a compact, well-balanced design that fits into today’s boats. And two-stage gear reduction with the lowest gear ratio in its class for marvelous acceleration and top-end speed.

Suzuki’s 4-stroke technology delivers clean, efficient operation that conforms to the Ultra-Low Emissions 3-Star rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Suzuki’s narrow 55-degree block and proven offset driveshaft make the 250SS more compact and move the center of gravity forward on the transom, for a sleek outboard that looks and fits better on today’s boats.
Suzuki builds in convenient features that add to the quality of your boating experience. Among those features are a tilt limit switch to prevent the motor from tilting past a preset limit, dual engine flush ports for easy flushing of the cooling system, and three-piece covers that offer easy access to the engine for routine maintenance.
The DF250SS incorporates a number of features that help to guard the outboard against exposure to the elements. Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish is specially formulated to protect parts of the aluminum exterior that are constantly exposed to saltwater. Dual engine flush ports make flushing of the engine as easy as possible. Other features that increase the DF250SS’s durability include forged pistons treated with an Alumite coating for increased heat resistance and a resin coating on the piston skirt for improved resistance to wear and friction reduction, and a water-cooled voltage regulator in the outboard’s electrical system.
Suzuki's engine management system controls every aspect of the DF250SS engine's performance. It also allows for a much more accurate control of the operation of the outboard and minimizes human error. Today's outboards are no longer purely mechanical, performance has improved dramatically by the incorporation of computer technology. The Suzuki engine management system controls the engine ignition system and provides the ideal fuel supply under all operating conditions making adjustments for engine wear and ensuring optimum performance throughout the life of the motor. It also enables engine safeguards to be incorporated such as over rev limiter, oil change reminder system and enables servicing to be simplified by using a plug-in diagnostic programme on a lap top computer to interrogate the inbuilt engine management module.
The DF250SS has a lower unit that utilizes a sleek, hydrodynamic design to reduce drag created as the outboard moves through the water. This advanced design contributes to faster acceleration and increased speed.

A large air induction port contributes to the DF250’s high power output by maximizing airflow into the engine. Increased airflow results in greater low- to mid-range torque to provide the wide powerband that outboards need. It also includes a water separator that aids in keeping water out of the electronic throttle body, and a heat shield to keep intake air as cool as possible.
Suzuki pioneered the use of Multi Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection in four-stroke outboards with the introduction of the award winning DF70 and DF60. Found on all models from the DF40 and up, the system utilizes an ECM (Engine Control Module) that constantly monitors crucial data in real time, from a comprehensive network of critically placed sensors. Using this data the ECM instantly calculates the optimum amount of fuel to be injected at high pressure into the cylinders by the Multi Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection system. The system delivers lower fuel consumption, reduced exhaust emissions, smoother starts, crisper acceleration, smoother performance, and maximum efficiency.
Suzuki pioneered the use of the offset driveshaft with the original DF90. Effective at reducing the size of the outboard it also moves the outboard’s center of gravity forward for better weight distribution. Found on all models from the New Generation DF70 and greater, it also provides improvements in power performance, balance, and vibration reduction.
This performance focused outboard is ideal for today’s tournament bass boats, ski boats, bay boats, sport pontoons — any high-performance craft with a 20-inch transom.
At idle, only the tell tale water jet will assure you that the motor is running. Very low noise allows you to talk normally to your passengers or crew when out on the water. Add to this very little engine vibration and you have peace and quiet to go along with a great day on the lake.
Suzuki uses its own, original Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish to guard the outboard against the harmful effects of corrosion. This special formula is applied directly to the outboard’s aluminum surface to provide maximum bonding of the finish to the alloy surface. Layered on top are an epoxy, primer undercoat, black metallic finish, and clear acrylic resin finish that together, form an effective treatment against corrosion.
The DF250SS incorporates Suzuki’s advanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT). VVT is used to alter intake timing with the camshaft to optimize camshaft timing for low to mid-range operation. Combined with the outboard’s aggressive cam profile VVT delivers greater low to mid-range torque for powerful acceleration.
