Big Block For Big Power.

The DF175 four-cylinder 4-stroke boasts a big-block inline power head with a class leading 174.9 cu. in. of displacement. Suzuki's DF175 may be compact and lightweight, but it sure packs a heavy punch. All these cubes, together with advanced features like dual overhead cams, enhanced air intake system with multi-stage induction, variable valve timing and sequential multi-point electronic fuel injection ensure plenty of smooth power on tap. Superior torque and powerful gearing with a 2.5:1 final drive ratio help even heavy boats jump out of the hole and quickly accelerate to eye-watering top speeds.

THIS OUTBOARD IS SMOOTH AS SILK too, thanks to Suzuki's specially designed counter balancer and a new thrust mount system that helps absorb vibrations and improves boat performance. Bass fishing, bay fishing or blue water, Suzuki's DF175 is a powerful match for any boat in fresh or salt water.

Features
The DF175 incorporates Suzuki’s advanced Variable Valve Timing (VVT). VVT is used to alter intake timing with the camshaft to optimize camshaft timing for low to mid-range operation. Combined with the outboard’s aggressive cam profile VVT delivers greater low to mid-range torque for powerful acceleration.
Get the advantage of the most advanced 4-stroke outboard technology in the industry. Features like multi-stage induction, variable valve timing(DF175) and a powerful 32-bit Electronic Fuel Injection computer that work together to optimize low-end and top-end torque.
Suzuki’s 4-stroke technology delivers clean, efficient operation that conforms to the Ultra-Low Emissions 3-Star rating from the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
Suzuki outboards are designed with features that make your boating experience that much more pleasurable. The DF175 incorporates high output alternators to keep an assortment of electronics up and running, water-cooled voltage regulators with isolators that allow use of two batteries, and a conveniently located fuse box.
Suzuki builds in convenient features that add to the quality of your boating experience. Among those features are a tilt limit switch to prevent the motor from tilting past a preset limit as well as dual engine flush ports for easy flushing of the cooling system.
Our Big-Block seris of outboards incorporate a number of features that help to guard the outboard against exposure to the elements. Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish is specially formulated to protect parts of the aluminum exterior that are constantly exposed to saltwater. Other features that increase the outboard's durability include forged pistons treated with an Alumite coating for increased heat resistance and a resin coating on the piston skirt for improved resistance to wear and friction reduction, and a water-cooled voltage regulator in the outboard’s electrical system.
Suzuki's engine management system controls every aspect of the DF's engines performance. It also allows for a much more accurate control of the operation of the outboard and minimizes human error. Today's outboards are no longer purely mechanical, performance has improved dramatically by the incorporation of computer technology. The Suzuki engine management system controls the engine ignition system and provides the ideal fuel supply under all operating conditions making adjustments for engine wear and ensuring optimum performance throughout the life of the motor. It also enables engine safeguards to be incorporated such as over rev limiter, oil change reminder system and enables servicing to be simplified by using a plug-in diagnostic programme on a lap top computer to interrogate the inbuilt engine management module.
A large air induction port contributes to the DF175’s high power output by maximizing airflow into the engine. Increased airflow results in greater low- to mid-range torque to provide the wide powerband that outboards need.
The DF175 takes full advantage of Suzuki’s advances in four-stroke engine technology to deliver high-end power and performance. A continuously variable valve timing system like the one found in our flagship DF300 delivers powerful mid-range acceleration.
Suzuki pioneered the use of Multi Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection in four-stroke outboards with the introduction of the award winning DF70 and DF60. Found on all models from the DF40 and up, the system utilizes an ECM (Engine Control Module) that constantly monitors crucial data in real time, from a comprehensive network of critically placed sensors. Using this data the ECM instantly calculates the optimum amount of fuel to be injected at high pressure into the cylinders by the Multi Point Sequential Electronic Fuel Injection system. The system delivers lower fuel consumption, reduced exhaust emissions, smoother starts, crisper acceleration, smoother performance, and maximum efficiency.
Suzuki set the standard with the use of an offset driveshaft with the original DF90. Effective at reducing the size of the outboard it also moves the outboard’s center of gravity forward for better weight distribution. Found on all models from the New Generation DF70 and greater, it also provides improvements in power performance, balance, and vibration reduction.
At idle, only the tell tale water jet will assure you that the motor is running. Very low noise allows you to talk normally to your passengers or crew when out on the water. Add to this very little engine vibration and you have peace and quiet to go along with a great day on the lake.
Suzuki uses its own, original Suzuki Anti-Corrosion Finish to guard the outboard against the harmful effects of corrosion. This special formula is applied directly to the outboard’s aluminum surface to provide maximum bonding of the finish to the alloy surface. Layered on top are an epoxy, primer undercoat, black metallic finish, and clear acrylic resin finish that together, form an effective treatment against corrosion.
For top-end performance that has to be experienced to be believed, the DF175 utilizes multi-stage induction, which provides efficient airflow into the engine at the upper end of the power curve.
The DF175 is designed to swing a larger diameter prop and feature a more aggressive gear ratio. The combination of larger prop and lower gear ratio delivers superior holeshot, which is especially valued on high-performance boats.
